Eugene Gryba was born in a log cabin at Cormorant Lake in northern Manitoba
and grew up on a farm near one of the higher beaches of Glacial Lake Aggissiz
in the Swan Valley of west-central Manitoba. In 1973 he graduated from
the University of Alberta with a Bachelor of Arts with Honours in Anthropology,
specializing in archeology. In 1975 he completed a Master of Arts at the
University of Manitoba. Eugene has led or participated in archeological
surveys and excavations in Manitoba, Saskatchewan, Alberta, British Columbia
and Texas.
Eugene has participated in lithic workshops and conferences internationally,
and has made replicas of prehistoric stone artifacts for museums or interpretive
centres in Alberta and North Dakota, and for many firms or individuals.
