The Juniper Bistro, Banff's Local Bistro, is inspired by the Bow Valley corridor, the bridge between two abundant food baskets. From the prairie grasslands to the Fraser Valley Delta, our menus feature western Canadian “cross roads” cuisine.
Choices range from relaxed and comforting to sophisticated and adventuresome. Our kitchen staff use the freshest and finest fish, fowl, game, meats, greens, and herbs to create a sense of place with classic regional specialties. Carefully selected ingredients reflect seasonal changes of flavor with influences from Alberta through to the West Coast.
Our commitment to environmental stewardship shows in our passion for food that is good for our bodies and good for planet. Let us know if you have dietary restrictions. Relax, knowing we serve Oceanwise seafood; regionallyraised and grazed beef, elk and bison; plus fruit, vegetables and grains grown in sustainable ways. There are always good vegetarian options available.
Breakfast is a glorious time of the day in the Bistro. The sun rises over the peak of Mount Rundle and brushes the sky with a pink hue. Your choices are based on ingredients to nourish you for a full day of play in Banff National Park.

Lunch Menu @ Juniper Bistro
If it is a warm day, the patio is the perfect place to enjoy a cold beverage and soak in Alberta sunshine. The flavors that take shape for lunch are modern yet simple: crispy, refreshing salads; healthy sandwiches; the best bison burger in the Rockies, and West Coast seafood.
If the air is crisp and the ground is covered with a blanket of snow, the fireplace is a great place to gather. The Lounge's apres-ski menu includes seven savoury choices for $7 each.
Marinated, grilled, seared, slow-braised or baked: you'll need more than one visit to try all of the main course choices that appeal. To whet your appetite, enjoy options like crab cakes with basil aoili and smoked tomato chutney. Or, try the house salad tossed with stilton and maple vinaigrette. Keep in mind we also offer daily food and wine specials.
Desserts are straight-forward: a densely-delicious fudge brownie; vanilla bean panna cotta with spiced raspberry compote; and, a great selection of house made ice creams and sorbets.

Bear Cub Menu - Kids Dining @ Juniper Bistro
Children can look forward to choosing from their own special menu. Classics like cereal and milk, grilled cheese sandwiches or a simple tomato pasta are sure to please. If not, the Juniper's kitchen is like a big box of Lego. We have many pieces we can put together to make a welcome meal.
